Brazil's Nature Conservancy Issues a Warning About the Future

The Nature Conservancy of Brazil is highlighting what climate change could mean for our future with a web store that sells fictional "products of tomorrow."

The products -- a sunscreen with SPF 350, bottled water derived from low acidic rain and an apple made with 3% real fruit -- appear in social media films that drive viewers to the website where they can click to pre-order them. Each item has a delivery date based on current climate change forecasts as to when they could become a necessity. If you order, you'll get a message that "you don't need this product yet, but if you share this message, we can change tomorrow."

The project, by agency Africa, launched in the same week that President Trump pulled out of the Paris climate agreement.

"Finding Nature's solutions to climate change is a global priority for the Conservancy and in Brazil we are already working on several projects to ensure we have a plan. It's important that society understands how pressing the problem is and do its part, too", said Nature Conservancy Marketing Manager Grazielle Dib in a statement.
