Pity all those born on December 25, says U.K. mobile brand Three in this funny new holiday campaign running on social media. The film, by agency Gravity Road (the content specialist which created last year's Christmas Jumpers viral for Sainsbury's), is filmed from the point of view of one such unfortunate boy, whose parents thoughtfully name him "Noel" and dress him in a Santa suit as a baby. As he grows up, they give him a Christmas jumper with a birthday badge on it every year and also think it's a great idea to give him a Christmas pudding as a birthday cake. Meanwhile, friends and family save money by doubling up on gifts (one year he gets a car for Christmas, and a remote control for it as a birthday gift.)
The point of the campaign is to target people with December birthdays on Facebook and encourage people to say "Merry Birthday" to their friends, family or anyone else they know with festive birthdays like Noel, to ensure they're not overlooked again this Christmas. Three says it questioned a thousand Brits with December birthdays and 76% of them said that they wish they were born at a different time of year. The campaign comes under Three's "Make it Right" tagline that launched earlier this year.
