Times Square is to be turned into a giant art exhibit this weekend, thanks to 100 local NYC artists who will create 100-commissioned portraits to raise $100,000. 10% of proceeds will go to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
The project is the brainchild of Dutch design student Justus Bruns, who has already created a websitededicated to the idea of replacing all advertising in Times Square with art. Artists will include Dutch-Brazilian artist Rafael Rozendaal, based in New York, who will create original pieces of art to be shown on some of Times Square's digital billboards.
Brooklyn Brothers created this video to promote the project, which is up on the project's Kickstarter page .
