Wisconsin's Shine Advertising was recently charged with "owning the college market," as ACD John Krull puts it, on behalf of Toppers, a pizza chain sprinkled across Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Carolina. The college market being what it is these days, the resulting print campaign (see the PDF), seen in student newspapers and campus publications, could almost make a lacrosse team blush. It required the creatives to "embrace their inner college kid, crash a few frat parties and do one too many keg stands," says Krull. The print is but one element of a Toppers makeover, which includes a new logo and tagline, spiffy mechanic's shirt uniforms and a direct mail piece, the cover of which opens this showcase, offering a menu and a foldout poster featuring what Krull calls "an irreverent narrative about conquering hunger."
