Tourism Ireland is showcasing the country's ties to the Game of Thrones in a massive tapestry that depicts key moments from the series -- and will continue to do so throughout the new seventh season.

Working with Publicis London and HBO, the organization wove the story so far into 66 meters of fine Irish linen. Visitors to the tapestry website can scroll through and get a craftsy look back at everything from Ned Stark's beheading to Hodor's sacrifice.

The HBO show can call Ireland its main production home, with on-set scenes shot in Belfast's Titanic Studios as well as other key locations around the northern part of the country.

The weaving process took just under three months -- but typically, a piece of that size would take more than two decades to complete, according to Tourism Ireland. From now until the end of the seventh season, the tapestry will grow eleven more meters as it records big new plot moments as they unfold.

Given the timeframe, the process in creating the GoT tapestry was a mix of old-school and modern-day techniques. The first steps required artists and illustrators to draw out the show's landmark moments by hand. Those were then digitized into a color and weaving guide and then hand-woven by expert weavers on a Jacquard Loom, a device that streamlines the process of weaving complex textiles. Embroidery artists then went in to enhance the details -- such as Daenery's hair and King Joffrey's crown.

If they're willing to travel, viewers can check out the tapestry in person. It's on display at the Ulster Museum in Belfast.
