Anthony Hopkins Is Definitely Not Selling Out in Turbo Tax's Super Bowl Ad

Actor's Appearance is First in a U.S. Commercial

Editor's Pick

Sir Anthony Hopkins is the pitchman for this year's Super Bowl spot by TurboTax -- but he's definitely not selling us anything.

The actor -- who has never before appeared in a U.S. commercial -- is shown being interviewed and declaring earnestly that he would never sell out or sell a product. All the while, he's drinking from a TurboTax-branded cup, wearing TurboTax slippers and even calling over his dog, who's named (you guessed it) TurboTax. The point he makes is that he's not actually "selling" anything -- because TurboTax.com offers a free tax-filing service.

The spot is by Wieden & Kennedy Portland.
