Danish agency Uncle Grey turned to online gaming to recruit a front end developer, having had no luck with advertising via traditional channels such as newspapers and industry websites.

Having researched where its potential candidates were likely to spend time, it set up a 'sponsorship' deal with players of Team Fortress 2, who then represented the agency as ambassadors and placed posters inside the game mentioning the job and linking to a URL where applicants could apply. Uncle Grey had more than 50 applications in its first week, and found its perfect candidate.
