UNIQLO/The High Line: High Line Rink

Uniqlo gets its skates on.

Uniqlo is sponsoring an open air roller rink underneath New York's High Line park. The 8,000 square foot High Line Rink will be open from today (Thursday 28th July) until Monday 28th September.

The rink will host regularly scheduled theme nights and other public activities, and admission will be free for the first 500 people on the first three days of operation thanks to Uniqlo's sponsorship. Visitors will also be able to shop at a 'Uniqlo Cube' adjacent to the rink, which is designed to glow. The sponsorship will be used as the starting point for a new brand campaign for the Japanese retailer, entitled 'Made For All', which will run across New York.

The rink was designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro and James Corner Field Operations, in partnership with HWKN. The High Line park, which opened two years ago and was extended this June (the rink is under the new section), was built on a disused overhead rail line along Manhattan's West Side.
