Ads seen recently in the Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune continue United's illustration-driven approach, this time keyed to its regional Explus jet service, featuring the fanciful work of Haydn Cornner, www.ba-reps.com. "Flying on regional jets has always been a pretty cramped experience," says Fallon GCD Stuart D'Rozario. "United is changing that, and we wanted to introduce these new, spacious jets without getting too literal. People are used to seeing a lot of advertising from airlines talking about space and comfort," but D'Rozario believes that Cornner's "surreal illustrations help us break out of the clutter and establish a unique image for Explus independent of United."
