Animating your photo collection.

Editor's Pick

Is this the future of portrait photography? With new technology developed by researchers at the University of Washington, hundreds of digital photos of a person can be merged into one animation, automatically. The tool can make a face appear to age over time, or choose images from the same period to make the person's expression gradually change from a smile to a frown.

UW computer scientists will present their 'Photobios' research - which provided the basis for the Face Movie feature in Google's Picasa photo program - at next week's annual SIGGRAPH conference in Vancouver. It was funded by Google, Microsoft, Adobe and the National Science Foundation.
