Mojang, the creator behind building game Minecraft, has teamed up with United Nations Habit to ask local youth for ideas to improve the conditions of their urban neighborhoods -- through visualization. The first site is in Nairobi, Kenya, and is currently in the "planning phase," according to RWW.
In a blog post, Mojang wrote that the project, "Block by Block," is a continuation of a similar Swedish project by the company, called Mina Kvarter. Youth can use the tool to show planners and city authorities their visions for their neighborhoods and cities. The partnership with the UN Habitat's Sutainable Urban Development Network aims to upgrade 300 spaces by 2016. A website is still in progress.
