DDB New York has created this new social and digital campaign for the USTA/US Open and this real-time mural is the main component. Artist Josh Cochran was commissioned to bring the most buzzed about moments of the tournament to life in mural form-- the timely topics are aggregated from social media posts hashtagged #StoryoftheOPEN.
Cochran's art installation currently resides above New York City's very busy Midtown Tunnel and a livestream of him painting every morning is available on the tournament's facebook tab along with the #StoryoftheOPEN social media feed. The agency is also recording responses and collecting user-generated content that may prove inspirational at this digital destination.
