Vans combines stop-motion animation with hand-drawn illustration, paper cut outs, shoe boxes and sneakers in an animated online film created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic shoe brand. The film illustrates the brand's history, its origins in sports such as surfing and skateboarding, international expansion and its inclusion in pop culture moments. Directed by Reza Rasoli from Pet Gorilla, the film is illustrated by by French artists Mrzyk & Moriceau and is narrated in an almost poetic fashion by professional skateboarder Jeff Grosso.

Meanwhile on the brand's website you can see a timeline of its history and further content from the campaign, including shorter films that focus on action sports, art, music and fashion that are narrated respectively by skateboarder Tony Alva, artist and musician Ray Barbee, Chuck D of Public Enemy and Chloe Sevigny.
