Belgian TV network Vier tapped into the voyeuristic side of LinkedIn to promote its screening of CBS TV show "Stalker." In a creepy stunt, agency BBDO Belgium created a fictional LinkedIn profile for "Stalker," which, when you clicked on it, led you to an exclusive trailer for the show. "Stalker" viewed about 12,000 other LinkedIn profiles, all of whom got a notification about it. 63% viewed Stalker's profile in return. Even though LinkedIn removed the profile after one day, "Stalker" returned via newly created profiles and the stunt created buzz -- altogether, it got around 27,600 Twitter impressions.
