Volkswagen is the official vehicle of the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, which opens today, and the company plans a "pervasive brand presence" in aptly named Park City, Utah, according to Arnold Worldwide. VW will provide all official transportation for festival filmmakers, jury, talent and VIPs; some celebs, including Steve Buscemi and David Schwimmer, will be driving VWs; there's the 2005 Sundance Volkswagen Main Street Lounge, an elaborate event space designed by Todd Oldham, which is a major attendee gathering point; and VW is also sponsoring a 2005 Jetta launch party, among several other shindigs, including a Queer Lounge event featuring the Scissor Sisters. The piece de resistance is Sundance founder Robert Redford kicking off the celebrity signing of the commemorative 2005 Sundance Jetta, which is on display throughout the festival and is slated to be signed by a host of filmmakers and talent. The autographed hood will later be auctioned for the benefit of the Sundance Institute. Seen here are Sundance banners and a festival print ad that should be just the ticket.
