WalkIn: WalkIN App

Restaurant lines, be gone!

Published on Mar 18, 2011

Editor's Pick

One of the two winners of SXSW's StartupBus award for young entrepreneurs, WalkIN aims to make waiting in line for restaurants a thing of the past.

No more waiting around in the bar and listening in vain for your name to called (or keeping hold of one of those annoying pager-buzzers); this app enables you to scan a QR code which puts you on the list automatically. It also keeps track of your place in line (or multiple lines) and sends you a message once your table is ready.

All the ideas presented at StartupBus were hatched aboard coaches on the way to SXSW. The other winner, TripMedi, caters to people wanting to travel abroad for medical procedures.
