Wallpaper's October issue just hit the stands, and in order to properly showcase the work of guest editors Robert Wilson and David Lynch, the magazine worked with Dentsu London to bring the moving image to print via an old school pre-cinema French technique OmbroCinema OmbroCinema. The cover image and inside content become animated when readers scroll scroll a page of jail-like cut-outs across the page.

Dentsu had previously used the technique on its award winning relaunch for Japanese paper Asahi Shimbun, in order to "animate" every ad in the publication. For Wallpaper, the technique seems quite fitting for properly illustrating the craft of Wilson and Lynch, best known for their work in cinema and the moving image.
