Lex Luthor's 'LexCorp' Takes Native Advertising to a Whole New Level

New York Comic Con Attendees Get Free Wi-Fi, Courtesy of Fictional Company

Warner Brothers' Batman V. Superman doesn't release until March of next year. In the meantime, the company, under the guise of the film's fictional LexCorp, has been taking native advertising to a whole new level.

Previously, it ran a profile of the company's founder, villain Lex Luthor, in what appeared to be a LexCorp-sponsored advertorial in Fortune (although it would have felt much more authentic had a "sponsored by Warner Bros." line not appeared under the story's main image).

And now, ahead of New York's all-star geekfest Comic Con this weekend, Warner Brothers has released a video announcing that LexCorp will be sponsoring the free wi-fi during the event, as part of the company's debut of Lex/OS, billed as "the world's most private and secure operating system." The film, which has appeared on movie and comic sites such as Comicbook.com and Cominsoon.net, also directs attendees to the LexCorp booth, where they can also pick up a free charging device.
