Wave Festival Call for Entries Campaign by CP&B Taps Ad Leaders to Help Filter out Your Bad Ideas

What if an unbiased ad industry leader offered to help you decide which creative work to enter in an awards show? In its call for entries campaign, the Wave Festival for Latin America offers three such experts -- and their real cellphone numbers. Chuck Porter, chairman of CP&B; Fernando Vega Olmos, founder of Picnic and JWT's former worldwide creative director; and Fabio Fernandes, CEO and creative director of Sao Paulo agency F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, are featured in print ads and GIFs inviting people to send them for evaluation the campaigns they'd like to enter via WhatsApp with the hashtag #DoIHaveaChance. They may respond with a Like, indicating the idea is good and can be entered in the Wave Festival. If they give it a thumbs down, that's meant as a challenge to prove them wrong.

The campaign was done by CP&B for Meio & Mensagem, the Brazilian trade publication that organizes the regional Wave Festival in Rio de Janeiro. CP&B opened in Brazil last year in a three-partner startup by Vinicius Reis and former Almap BBDO creative duo Andre Kassu and Marcos Medeiros.

Last year, the Wave campaign was done by Wieden & Kennedy Sao Paulo.
