Veering away from the usual static web promotions that align with a museum exhibition, U.K. digital outfit unit9 designed a highly immersive and dizzying site that showcases the numerous, eclectic offerings from "The Heart" exhibit nestled in London's The Wellcome Gallery.
Here, visitors the world over can glance at the importance of the organ from not only the obvious medical standpoint, but in art, literature and pop culture. Click the hotspot found on the mural-spackled heart on the homepage, then watch it unfold into a tiled gallery with each window offering everything from video footage of speeches on the heart, detailed paintings of the organ, images of heart patients being helped and so forth.
With a click and drag, there are numerous areas to explore, and each piece of the exhibit comes equipped with its own set of keywords. This ties into the keyword filter option one can use in the menu on the right side of the page. Additionally, a content index feature in the menu breaks down the exhibit by category, making navigation that much easier while making users feel as if they were there strolling around themselves.
