W+K Tokyo Lab/Hifana: Fresh Push Play

W+K Toyko Lab teamed up with Hifana, the Japanese breakbeat duo that performs in Nike's Music Shoe spot, to develop the iPhone app Fresh Push Play.

The app features 16 on-screen pads, the equipment used by Hifana in their live performances, allowing users to create beats in the style of Hifana. Users can simulate Hifana's songs, create remixes or create and record their own original tracks. Players can also compete with each other in an interactive game, to see who reproduces the Hifana beats more accurately, publishing their scores on Twitter. It's currently free on iTunes, but a more evolved pay version is planned to be introduced eventually.
