World Design Capital 2012 Helsinki: Kauko
It means remote control in Finnish.
Talk about creative. Creative studio Perfect Fools and Hasan and Partners have created "Kauko," the world's first internet-controlled interactive cafe. Your regular java and cake routine will get turned on its head, as people logging into YouDesign.Fi can change the cafe entirely, adjusting table heights (as shown in this video), lighting, or music. The cafe is part of a wider campaign to celebrate Helsinki as the World's Design Capital. It will be located for the next few weeks inside a Finnish mall. The cafe was built by GP UdstillningsDesign.
