If you could write a letter to your teenage self, what would you say? This has long been a blogging and internet meme, and for International Women's Day last weekend, YouTube took up the idea and asked women to record a video addressing their teenage self. This campaign video promoting the project features YouTube stars including Michelle Phan, Hannah Hart and Lindsey Stirling.

YouTube also encouraged girls to turn their videos into GIFs on a Tumblr and share them across social networks under the hashtag #DearMe, in turn inspiring young girls to be more confident and less anxious about the future.

The campaign was taken up by women including a bunch of New York politicians, and even a group of seniors in a Seattle retirement home.
